What is your role and what does it involve?
I lead Operations – the core of which is managing the supply chain of money, ensuring that all customers receive the correct balance in the fastest possible time. At MarketInvoice, we’ve used technology to build world-class processes which allow us to make fund transfers as quickly as possible, and at a low cost, which means we can pass these savings onto our customers.
What are some of the challenges your team are facing?
The remit of the Operations team has expanded substantially in the last year, and we’re now building out a Customer Success team, which is facilitating our new product, MarketInvoice Pro. As the company grows and the amount of facilities that need to be managed increases, we’re also building our internal IT team, looking after our day-to-day office equipment and software. There’s a huge amount to do, but we’re making good progress and it’s very rewarding.
What have you enjoyed about working at MarketInvoice so far?
Firstly, at a place like MarketInvoice, every success you and your team has will have an overall impact on the business – you really feel like you’ve achieved something when you’re heading home at the end of the day. Secondly, we have fantastic people – even though we have a flexible working policy I always want to be spending as much time in the office as possible with my colleagues.
What kind of person is going to be successful at MarketInvoice?
People at MarketInvoice really care about the mission – helping businesses grow – and of course making MarketInvoice a success. At MarketInvoice, you are very far removed from being a cog in a big corporate machine, so the more you put in, the more of an impact you will have.
What things are you excited about MarketInvoice doing in the future?
There’s always so much happening here. We’ve just launched a new product and managing its growth is really exciting – plus we’re planning something else fairly soon too. It’s going to be a very exciting (if busy) year!
