Selling abroad is the easy part. Funding it isn’t.
Overseas invoices
The problem: many facilities only fund UK customers.
The solution: a UKEF guarantee means invoices to overseas buyers can be funded.
The longer wait
The problem: shipping and international payment terms stretch the time until you’re paid.
The solution: draw against the invoice when the order ships.
Pricing
The problem: overseas invoices usually cost more to fund.
The solution: with part of the risk guaranteed, they’re priced closer to UK ones.
What is the UKEF General Export Facility?
UK Export Finance is the government’s export credit agency. Its General Export Facility lets accredited lenders, in this case Allica Bank, offer working capital to eligible UK exporters on better terms than they could reach commercially.
Government-backed
A UKEF guarantee sits behind the facility. That is what lets us offer more competitive terms to eligible exporters.
Provided by Allica Bank
Allica Bank provides the facility as an approved UKEF partner. Kriya handles the relationship and the process.
No separate UKEF application
We arrange the government guarantee after credit assessment. You book a call and sign a few extra declarations at the end.
The UKEF guarantee supports the lender, not you. Your business remains responsible for the facility in the normal way.
Accessing Government-backed export finance, simply.
For you, the process is the same as applying for any Kriya facility. The government-backed part happens on our side.
1. Book a call
Book a call here. A short conversation with our team to confirm your business and your export activity.
2. Assessment
We run our standard credit process. The UKEF side is handled internally by our team.
3. Approval
If approved, we ask for a small set of export-related declarations, nothing onerous.
4. Facility live
Your government-backed export facility goes live, and you can finance invoices against your overseas customers from day one.
Who can apply?
Three criteria, set by UKEF and Allica Bank. All three must be met.
UK incorporation
Registered at Companies House as a limited company or LLP with a UK establishment.
Genuine UK operations
UK premises and UK employees, paying UK National Insurance and Corporation Tax, making the goods or delivering the services from the UK. Not a company that imports and resells with no real UK activity.
Export turnover
Either at least 20% of your turnover came from exports in any one of the last three financial years, or at least 5% came from exports in each of the last three. You only need to meet one of those two conditions.
Not sure you qualify? Talk to us anyway.
Book a callIf the General Export Facility is not the right fit, we will assess you for a standard Kriya invoice finance facility instead. The process is the same either way, and it is the same conversation.
Let’s find the right facility for you
Takes about a minute to fill out. A member of our team will then reach out to set up a 20-minute call at a time that suits you.
- 1A short consultation focused on your goals and funding needs
- 2A clear view of whether Kriya is the right fit
- 3Indicative terms and a path to getting funded
Kriya’s promise. If we can’t help you, we’ll do our best to refer you to a trusted partner that can, no strings attached.
Questions about export finance
No. Exporters apply through a participating lender rather than to UKEF directly. We arrange the government guarantee after credit assessment, and ask you for a small set of export declarations at the end.
A UK Export Finance scheme that provides a partial guarantee to accredited lenders, enabling them to offer working capital to eligible UK exporters on more competitive terms than they could access commercially.
Either at least 20% in any one of the last three financial years, or at least 5% in each of the last three. You only need to meet one of the two tests.
We can fund exports to most markets. The exceptions are sanctioned and restricted territories. Tell us where you sell and we'll confirm on the call.
The facility works the same way. The difference is the government guarantee behind it, which is what allows us to fund overseas invoices on better terms than we could otherwise offer.
They are separate government schemes used for different purposes. A business is assessed for each scheme separately, and the lender decides which, if any, to use for a given facility.
