Over the last couple of months MarketInvoice has been at hyper-growth. We’ve kicked off a game-changing partnership with Barclays and are looking to scale massively over the next quarter.

With lots of new roles opening up to support this, the Talent team have had an exciting couple of weeks. One of the main areas where we’re driving recruitment is within our Tech team, which is at the heart of MarketInvoice.

On 25 November, we attended this year’s Silicon Milkroundabout – the UK’s largest job fair for Tech professionals. Now in their 8th year with 16 events under their belt, SMR put on an amazing show. Over 200 companies and 3,000 attendees filled the Old Truman Brewery, just a stone’s throw from the Old Street Roundabout. It’s crazy to think it’s founder, Peter Finlay, thought of the concept whilst having a drink in one of London’s old school pubs.

Six of us from MarketInvoice went along to the event to get the word out. The Talent team, supported by some of our own engineers – Dave, Suleyman and Patrick – were there to explain what it’s like to work in the Tech team at one of the UK’s leading Fintechs, and explain more about what the role entails. What do engineers do at MarketInvoice? What does the day-to-day look like? These were some of the most popular questions. In the words of Rija (our CTO), we explained why MarketInvoice is such a great place to work…

It was a great day! We caught up with everyone from data scientists and backend engineers to frontend developers and product managers from all walks of life and levels of experience. We received a number of positive comments around how we’re recruiting across all levels; hiring the best junior talent and training them up to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Silicon Milkroundabout was just the beginning and we’re really looking forward to collaborating on all sorts of opportunities with the London Tech community in 2019. We’ll be sharing the latest technologies and ideas to enable continuous learning as well as sharing of skills and experience. We’ll be working closely with some of the world’s leading thinkers, innovators and experts to share their insights and key learnings.
